Scholastic Book Fair

Get ready for a DINO-MITE Book Fair: Stomp! Chomp! Read!  From April 23-26th, the Scholastic book fair will be open from 2:00-4:00 pm each day and from 2:00-8:00 pm on Friday during the Spring Carnival. The school earns money for new books with every sale. We hope to see you there!

Spring Carnival

The PTA is working hard to prepare for our biggest fundraiser of the school year, the Spring Carnival, on Friday, April 26th. Please look for more information on tickets to come home soon. We will have a silent auction, games, bounce houses, face painting, food trucks, and so much more. We hope to see you there!

Papa John’s Pizza

We are working hard to win the Dollars for Dough Papa John’s Pizza contest. The grand prize is $10,000! Please use the code SPES when placing your order at any area Papa John’s Pizza to support our school. Check out the information below for details on incentives for the classes with the greatest participation. We greatly appreciate your continued support!

During the week of March 26-28 (this week), we encourage everyone to place on online order with Papa John’s and use the code: SPES on the designated dates below:

  • March 26: Last names starting with A-I
  • March 27: Last names starting with J-R
  • March 28: Last names starting with S-Z

The class from each grade level with the highest number of orders will receive an EXTRA special recess with Mrs. Mulholland and Mrs. Anderson during the month of April. To receive credit, students should turn in their receipt with their name and teacher’s name to the front office. If one of these dates doesn’t work for your family, please feel free to order any day during the week of March 25-29 and send your receipt to school. The winners will be announced after spring break! There will be drawings for special prizes as well!

100th Day of School

It is hard to believe we have made it 100 days at the Park! We have many exciting events to finish the remaining 75 days of the school year. Community Foundation needs your help to identify region’s outstanding teachers

Henrico, Va. Jan. 17, 2019 – Who is the special teacher in your life? The REB Awards for Teaching Excellence provide a tangible, public way to recognize outstanding teachers in Henrico County Public Schools – and give them the means to continue growing. The Community Foundation’s yearly awards identify, recognize and support teaching excellence in the Richmond area. Honorees receive professional development grants of $4,000 to $12,000, given to teachers who have distinguished themselves by their inspiring classroom performance.

Through a nomination process, approximately 15 outstanding teachers are selected each year to receive cash grants to support professional development activities.

Nominations are invited from parents, students, educators and the community at large. Award recipients have earned graduate degrees, climbed mountains, traced their ancestors and met peers from around the world – all to reignite their own passion for learning and to pass it on to their students.

Nominations must be made online. A letter in support of the nomination must be written by another individual and submitted online with the nomination.

Who:The Community Foundation invites nominations from students, parents, colleagues, school staff and administrators (except for the school principal), and the community at large.

When: Nominations and letters of support must be submitted by Feb. 25 at 5 p.m.
