Principal’s Message

Hey Springers!

I hope that this message finds you well and having a great summer. We are busy at school; creating class rolls and schedules. Many thanks to all of you who have registered your rising kindergarten and transfer students. If you have not done that yet, please call Mrs. Page at 527-4630 to schedule an appointment for your registration.

In addition, we have been busy ordering and compiling “At Home Learning Kits,” thanks to our PTA, for each student. These will be ready for a drive-through distribution event toward the end of the month. We will notify everyone with the exact days and times soon!

I know that many of you are wondering what school will look like in the fall and what you can do to get ready. For the 1st nine weeks, the students will be meeting virtually with their teacher and class. The students will be completing whole group, small group and independent activities with the direction & guidance of their teacher via the computer from 8:00-1:00 Monday through Friday. Attendance will be taken daily, and students will be given hands-on and digital tasks to complete, which will be graded. There will be access to Art, Music, PE and Library, as well as, daily recess and movement breaks, so don’t worry your students will be up and moving as well. Your child’s teacher placement, teacher contact information and individualized schedule will be sent home in the next few weeks.

To complete their daily virtual learning instruction and activities, the students will need their county issued Chromebook or iPad, internet connection, and a quiet workspace with a table, chair and student supplies. The supply list was sent to families and is posted on our school website. You will notice that they are broken down into what is necessary for virtual learning and what additional supplies will be needed upon return to in-person instruction.  Knowing that this weekend is the “Tax-Free Weekend” and that there are many sales, we wanted to let you know the supplies for the entire year in case you wanted to buy them all at once.

We know that many of our Springers are excited to begin school; creating their at home school work space with a designated table, chair, and an area to keep their supplies will help them feel ready for the new school year. Have fun decorating and organizing this space together.

We know that this year will begin differently, but we also know that it will be an amazing experience as we all embrace this journey together!  If there is anything that we, as a school, can do for you and your family, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

We can’t wait for school to start and to begin seeing all our Springers in their classrooms.
