It is our pleasure to share with you that Mrs. Nicole Freundt has been selected as the Principal of Rivers Edge Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year. Although we will all miss Mrs. James and appreciate her many years of strong leadership, we are excited to know she is leaving Rivers Edge in great hands!
Mrs. Freundt has had a variety of experiences that have led her to this opportunity to serve as Principal. Mrs. Freundt began her career in education as an Elementary Grade 5 Teacher at Maybeury Elementary School in Henrico County Public Schools. Nicole then transitioned to leadership as a Resource Teacher at Johnson Elementary School and then continued her leadership journey in the role of Associate Principal at Johnson Elementary School. Mrs. Freundt has been leading and supporting students, staff, and the Rivers Edge ES Eagles community as the Associate Principal since August, 2023.
Mrs. Freundt's first official day as Principal will be July 1st, and you will be hearing from her soon regarding opportunities for families to meet with her in the coming weeks. She has wonderful ideas for continuing the great work that makes our school such a special place to be. I know that with families, staff, and leadership working together, Rivers Edge Elementary School will continue to innovate and excel!
