Yay of the Day

YAY FORREST HUNDLEY! Forrest Hundley, an adaptive PE teacher at Springfield Park Elementary School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently.

Nominator Rachel Williamson said,

"I have witnessed firsthand his dedication to supporting students with diverse needs through physical education. What makes Forrest stand out is his exceptional ability to adapt, ensuring that PE time is an inclusive time for all students. Forrest goes above and beyond his duty, collaborating with teachers and their aids with so much grace. He possess the rare blend of patience, empathy and creativity that allows him to turn physical obstacles into opportunities for growth. Forrest has not only made a lasting impact on our students’ confidence and physical health, but he has also made a lasting impacting on our entire team. I cannot think of a more deserving recipient for this award.

"It is hard to choose one time, every time he walks into our building, he makes a positive impact. He makes incredible adaptive equipment for our students, giving them the opportunity to try things like baseball and bowling. He shows up for field trips whenever he is available, just because he loves the kids and wants to support them."
